Nice to Meet You!

Baby Rockers and Rockers,

You already know how to go about getting all the information you need. So what you can do is be kind. Help others to understand that the ether is a place where people can learn and grow.

Be discreet.

As this site develops there will be more for you. Things like Technorati, StumbleUpon and DIGG may be new to you, and checking them out could help you find information, make friends and raise your online profile. Site links will be posted often as well as discussion topics about which you may have an interest, but for now, I am trying to bridge the gap for noobs. You can help by helping them.

I have linked Wikipedia liberally in most beginner posts, so if there is something you want to know about anything in the tags or entries you can get there from here. Of course, if you have better information, cough it up for crying out loud! Okay, please?

You may already have heard of these places, but just in case you haven’t here are a few sites that can help you do some fun things.

Flickr Toys : You can upload your own pics and do neat things with them.

Phixr : You can edit pics for free!

HTML Color Codes : If you want that special hue, this place has a load of codes for you.

Del.icio.us : Keeping your bookmarks online is a neat ting. You are not a a loss when you re not at your own computer this way. The new version of Firefox also seems to have one of its own. I have not tried it but it might be worth checking.

Here are a few free video hosting sites. You already know about YouTube. I have found that these are often easier to use.

Blip.tv

Revver

Viddler

Vimeo

Alright. There may be nothing here that you do not know. So I am sorry if I have wasted your time. But if you have more to waste, please leave me any helpful advice you can about helping people become digitally literate. Read through the comments if there are any and if you can answer a question, do so!

This site is meant to be a simple resource for people to get started from the other side of the divide. Toss them a lifeline if you can. You know you would appreciate it.
